The Inspiration

We created this salad on a warm afternoon when we were craving for something refreshing that could hold its own next to a spicy pasta.
The idea sparked from the beauty of juicy, citrusy oranges paired with the earthy sweetness of beetroot. Not just any beetroot — the artisanal touch of Majic Jar’s Beetroot Relish, brings a lovely depth with its rich and sweet flavour profile.
Add to that the salty creaminess of feta, the peppery bite of rocket leaves, and a kiss of olive oil and balsamic vinegar — and you have a dish that's as pretty as it is delicious.


Recipe: Beetroot Relish and Orange Salad

Ingredients:

  • 2 large oranges

  • Salt, to taste

  • Crushed black pepper, to taste

  • 6–8 teaspoons Majic Jar Beetroot Relish

  • 50g feta cheese, crumbled or grated

  • A handful of fresh rocket leaves

  • 1–2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Oranges:
    Peel the oranges and slice them into thin rounds. Spread them out on a serving plate in a single layer.

  2. Season:
    Sprinkle lightly with salt and freshly crushed black pepper.

  3. Add the Majic:
    Place a small spoonful of Majic Jar Beetroot Relish on top of each orange slice.

  4. Top with Feta:
    Crumble or grate some feta generously over the oranges and relish.

  5. Add Rocket Leaves:
    Scatter a handful of rocket leaves over the salad for freshness and a hint of bitterness.
